Hello hello! I didn't mean to neglect posting for basically 2 weeks, but a breakout of eczema on my face and hands, plus a four-hour final exam to study for really put the blog low on the priority list. I'm back to share a FOTD and photos from my birthday dinner with bf last month.
I rarely do FOTDs anymore because it's such a hassle to edit out the eczema, but I'm so hairstyling-inept that when I curl my hair, it
must be documented. I busted out all my favourite fancypants makeup for this look: Dermablend Smooth Indulgence Foundation in Sand Beige, Guerlain Météorites Perles in Teint Beige 02, and Becca Lowlight Sculpting Perfector. Brows are a combination of MAC eyeshadow in Concrete and Anastasia Dipbrow Pomade in Medium Brown. I haven't worn eyeshadow in
forever but I used my trusty MAC palette with Gleam and Naked Lunch, plus Clinique Quickliner for Eyes in Intense Clove. Blush is Clinique Cheek Pop in Peach Pop, and the lipstick is Annabelle TwistUp in Red Carpet, a perfect bright red for celebrating.
I have inflexible hair so my curls loosened pretty quickly after this, as expected. Whenever I curl my hair, I take bf's face in my hands and tell him, "please appreciate my hair because it's not gonna look like this for long." He takes a minute. "Okay, I've appreciated it." "Good."
For dinner, we went to Arc Restaurant at the Fairmont Waterfront. It was our first visit, but the restaurant came highly recommended from friends. The service was fantastic and the food was some of the best we've had in a long time, so we'll definitely be back again.

We're dressed up and having dinner at a fancy place, so
of course I'm going to take phone pictures of my food. My Pemberton Beef Tenderloin was crazy delicious and tender. I wasn't sure what to think of the vanilla in bf's dish, but it was unexpectedly good and made everything--the parnsip puree, the beans--more delicious.
The dessert menu isn't posted online so I'm going off memory describing the awesome dessert plate service brought out for us: peach pie cheesecake, a Terry's Chocolate Orange-inspired chocolate mousse cake, pumpkin-spiced beignets (basically super delicious, fancy Timbits), and 4 flavours of ice cream (can't remember them all but the maple madness was definitely the best; rum raisin was a bit too boozy for me.)
All in all, it was a nice, quiet way to spend my birthday. Arc was really fantastic. We've had a few favourite date night spots over the years--some of which have closed, so I'm happy that we may have just found a new one.
